This is a sampling of photographs taken all over the world in my personal travels and assignment work for various publications in the US and Europe. I have always strived to capture moments that speak to me and thus to the viewer. While covering crisis situations, it's easy to go for the cheap and sensational shot. I always did my best to create images that make the viewer want to look at the image and learn more, as opposed to turn away in horror or disgust. My hope is to bring the viewer inside the situation while disturbing the environment as little as possible.
My heroes are some of the modern day photojournalists such as James Nachtwey, Sebastião Salgado, and Christopher Morris. I encourage all of you to take the time to familiarize yourselves with their work and learn more about what these people do for the world of Photojournalism.
Thank you for taking the time to look at these images. Any questions any of you may have are more than welcome. Feel free to browse my website: www.stonefoto.com or write to me at: hopper@stonefoto.com.
